Mary EDGOOSE was born at 2 Pitt Street, Plaistow Marsh, on 2 May 1858, daughter of Elmitt and Priscilla EDGOOSE.

Elmitt EDGOOSE had married Priscilla PARKER, widow, on 24 March 1856.

She died at 2 Pitt Street, Plaistow Marsh, on 12 July 1859 aged 15 months. She was described as the daughter of James EDGOOSE carpenter. Harriett CATTON of the same address informed the registrar.

SIDNEY LUCAS EDGOOSE 1893-1893

Sidney (sic) Lucas EDGOOSE was born at 117 Kennington Park Road, London, on 18 June 1893, the illegitimate son of Kate Agnes EDGOOSE, a domestic servant of 46 St. Agnes Place, Kennington Park.

According to the Street Directory for 1893, 117 Kennington Park Road was the residence of Henry William CLEMOW. Kate Agnes EDGOOSE described herself as a domestic servant and gave her address as 46 St. Agnes Place, Kennington Park. She and her son were admitted to the Newington Workhouse, Westmoreland Road, the following day and were discharged "To Friends" after breakfast on 1 July 1893 when Sydney was 14 days old. The birth was registered on 7 July 1893.

Sydney (sic) EDGOOSE was baptised at the Parish Church of St. Agnes, Kennington Park, London, on 2 July 1893.

Sydney (sic) EDGOOSE died at Tydd St. Mary, Lincolnshire, on 12 July 1893 and was buried there three days later. He was described as the son of Kate EDGOOSE, a domestic servant and housemaid. A. KETTERINGHAM was present when he died and informed the registrar. He was just three weeks old.

There is no record of his baptism at Gosberton, Lincolnshire. There is a record of a baptism of a Robert TYLER at Osbournby in Lincolnshire on 15 July 1753.

John EDGOOSE, grazier from Gosberton, and Ann DOLTON, spinster from Gosberton, were married at Gosberton Parish Church on 21 September 1768.

John EDGOOSE was buried at Gosberton on 27 May 1781. Ann EDGOOSE, widow of John EDGOOSE, administered his estate and Edward HARE, farmer of Gosberton, and Robert TYLER, yeoman of Gosberton, were named in the Administration Bond with her.

Robert TYLER of Gosberton married Ann EDGOOSE of Gosberton at Gosberton on 10 October 1781.

Ann, infant daughter of Robert and Ann TYLER, was buried at Gosberton on on 7 June 1782. There is no record of her baptism at Gosberton.

William, infant son of Robert and Ann TYLER, was buried at Gosberton on 9 October 1783. There is no record of his baptism at Gosberton.

Ann, wife of Robert TYLER, was buried at Gosberton on 20 June 1786 aged 46.

The Will of Robert TYLER, farmer and grazier, of Gosberton, Lincolnshire, made on 19 March 1805
[surnames capitalised, abbreviations expanded, and clauses separated]:

"In the Name of God Amen I Robert TYLER of the Parish of Gosberton in the County of Lincoln, Farmer & Grazier, being weak in body but of perfect mind and memory (thanks to Amighty God,) calling to mind the mortality of the Body, and knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to die; do constitute make, ordain & publish this my last will & Testament in form and manner following. That is to say principally and first, I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it, and my body I commit to the Earth to be buried with decent Christian Burial at the Discretion of my Executor hereinafter named, nothing doubting, but that I shall receive the same again at the General Resurrection by the power of Almighty God; And as touching such worldly Estate and Effects wherewith Almighty God hath blessed me in this Life, I give, bequeath, and dispense of in the form and manner following.

First I give and bequeath unto my well beloved nephew Robert TYLER, son of my Brother Thomas TYLER of Osbournby in the said County of Lincoln the Sum of five Pounds of good and lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid unto the said Robert TYLER by my Executor out of my Estate & Effects, a Twelvemonth and a Day after my decease and it is my wish that the said Sum may be imployed towards putting him out to some useful Trade if approved of by him & those concerned

I also give and bequeath unto my well beloved Niece Elizabeth TYLER Daughter of my Brother Thomas TYLER of Osbournby aforesaid the Sum of five pounds of good and lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid unto her by my Executor out of my Estate & Effects, a Twelvemonth and a Day after my decease

I further give and bequeath unto my well beloved Nephew William TYLER Grocer of Billingborough in the said County of Lincoln the Sum of five pounds of good and lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid unto him by my Executor out of my Estate and Effects a Twelvemonth and a Day after my decease

I likewise give and bequeath unto my well beloved Nephew Sutton TYLER of Horbling in the county of Lincoln, Taylor the further sum of five pounds of good and lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid as above.

I further give and bequeath unto my well beloved son in law John HEADGOOSE of the Parish of Walton near Wisbeach in Cambridgeshire the Sum of Ten Pounds of good and lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid by my Executor as above.

Lastly I give and bequeath unto my well beloved Son in Law James HEADGOOSE of the Parish of Gosberton aforesaid, who now resides with me, and whom I also nominate, make, appoint and ordain the Sole Executor of this my Last Will & Testament, AlAlAll my Estate, Effects, Goods, Chattels & Money possessed by me at the Time of my Decease my lawful Debts, Funeral Expenses, & the above Legacies being first duly discharged as the same shall become due; by the said James HEADGOOSE his Executors, Heirs and Assigns forever to be be possessed and enjoyed, without any Molestation, let or Hindrance from or by any person whatsover;

And I do hereby declare this and this only to be my last will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this Nineteenth Day of March, in the Year of our Lord One thousand & Eight Hundred and Five

Signed, sealed, published pronounced and declared by the within named Testator to be his last Will & Testament in the presence of us who in is presence and in the Presence of each other have hereunto set our Hands the Day & Date above written.
