      He died on 29 [sic] September 1887. 27th September according to probate of his will.

      The will of Joseph Robert COCKER:
      This is the last Will and Testament of me Joseph Robert COCKER of Belle View Hathersage in the County of Derby Gentleman I appoint my Son John Armstrong COCKER of Hathersage aforesaid Merchant and Manufacturer Executor of this my Will I give and bequeath the legacy or sum of one hundred pounds to Mary Ann RAYWOOD free from duty And I direct that the same shall be paid to her within one calendar month after my decease I devise unto and to the use of my said Son John Armstrong COCKER hi his heirs and assigns all the real estate And I bequeath to him his executors administrators and assigns all the personal estate of which I may die possessed or entitled to and of which I have power to dispose of by Will Upon trust after payment o of my debts funeral and testamentary expenses and the legacies hereinbefore bequeathed for the sole use and benefit of my said Son But in case my said Son shall die in my lifetime then I give devise and bequeath my said real and personal estatetes subject to the payment of my debts funeral and testamentary expenses and the legacy aforesaid unto Harriet COCKER the wife of my said Son for her own absolute use and benefit I revoke all former Wills In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twenty third day of February one thousand eight hundred and eighty five
