    • MARIA BATTERHAM 1847-

      The birth of a Maria BATTERHAM was registered in 1847.

      At the time of the 1851 census Joseph BATTERHAM, aged 35 and born at Walsoken in Norfolk, was the farmer of six acres of land and lived at South Field, West Walton, Wisbeach. The rest of the family were all born in West Walton:
      Mary BATTERHAM, his 30 year old wife;
      Joseph BATTERHAM, their 8 year old son, a scholar;
      Mary A. BATTERHAM, their 6 year old daughter, a scholar;
      *Maria BATTERHAM, their 4 year old daughter, a scholar;
      Elizabeth BATTERHAM, their 2 year old daughter, a scholar.
      Ann OLDFIELD (nee EDGOOSE and Mary BATTERHAM's mother), a 52 year old annuitant, was a visitor (HO/107/1766/564/19).

      At the time of the 1861 census she was a house servant to Benjamin STOCKDALE, an owner and farmer of 71 acres in Mill Road, West Walton, Norfolk:
