ELIZABETH BATTERHAM 1848-1915
The birth of an Elizabeth BATTERHAM was registered in 1848.
(GRO September Q 1848 Wisbech 14 171).
At the time of the 1851 census Joseph BATTERHAM, aged 35 and born at Walsoken in Norfolk, was the farmer of six acres of land and lived at South Field, West Walton, Wisbeach. The rest of the family were all born in West Walton:
Mary BATTERHAM, his 30 year old wife;
Joseph BATTERHAM, their 8 year old son, a scholar;
Mary A. BATTERHAM, their 6 year old daughter, a scholar;
Maria BATTERHAM, their 4 year old daughter, a scholar;
*Elizabeth BATTERHAM, their 2 year old daughter, a scholar.
Ann OLDFIELD (nee EDGOOSE and Mary BATTERHAM's mother), a 52 year old annuitant, was a visitor.

George LOVOCK, a twenty three year old bachelor, a signalman, living at The Carry (?), Doncaster, Yorkshire, and son of Charles LOVOCK, farm labourer, married 24 year old spinster Elizabeth BATTERHAM of Cleveland Street, Doncaster, and daughter of Joseph Batterham, gardener, at the Parish Church of St. James Doncaster, Yorkshire, on 28 November 1877. Witnesses were John WELLS and Elizabeth Sarah HAYNES.
