    • ANN BATTERHAM née READER 1816 or 1817-1894

      John BATTERHAM, a 23 year old Walsoken labourer and bachelor and son of John BATTERHAM, labourer, married Ann READER at Walsoken Parish Church in Norfolk on 5 June 1843. Ann READER was a 27 year old Walsoken spinster, described as a labourer, the daughter of Robert READER, labourer. Witnesses were John READER and Sarah EATON. The bride, groom, and witnesses made their marks.

      At the time of the 1851 census John BATTERHAM was a 30 year old farm labourer, born at Walsoken in Norfolk and living at Roman Bank, Walsoken. His wife Ann was 34 years old and born at Walsoken. Their 3 year old son John BATTERHAM was also born in Walsoken. (HO107/1767/286/12)

      According to the 1861 census return she was born at Emneth in Norfolk.
