JOSIAH RUMBALL 1793-1871
Josiah RUMBALL, son of Samuel RUMBALL and Susannah nee KEYMER, was born in Whitechapel, Middlesex, on 17 March 1793. His birth was registered on 8 April 1793. He was baptised at Litlle Prescot Street Baptist Church, Stepney, Middlesex.

Josiah RUMBALL, a bachelor from Wisbech St. Peter, Cambridgeshire, and Amy STANTON, a spinster from Leverington in Cambridgeshire, were married by Licence with consent of the Guardians of the said Amy on 15 August 1820. Witnesses were Stephen STANTON, Mary KEYMER, and Mary Ann STANTON.

Josiah RUMBELL gave evidence against John PARGITER for mail theft at the Old Bailey on 13 December 1847.
"I am a clerk at Gurney's bank at Wisbeach - note No. 3606, of that bank, was in circulation at the beginning of Nov.- there are not two notes of the same number & letter - I should say there is no 10l. note of ours in circulation No. 6306 - I cannot say whether it is in or not of my own knowledge - this note, 3606, has not been cancelled - it was in circulation at the time".

Josiah RUMBELL was admitted to Bethnall House, a private Licensed House for lunacy patients, on 13 July 1866. He was discharged on 23 April 1867.

According to FamilySearch, Josiah RUMBALL died in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, on 18 February 1871 aged 78. His death was apparently announced in a newspaper under Family Notices.

The Will of Josiah RUMBALL formerly of Leverington St. Leonard's in the Isle of Ely in the County of Cambridge but late of 9 St. George's-terrace Regent's Park in the County of Middlesex Gentleman who died 10 February 1871 at 9 St. George's proved at the Principal Registry by Mary Ann DALZIEL (Wife of George Dalziel) of 9 St. George's-terrace the Daughter the sole Executrix.
