    • WHARRAM, Ann (1828-1913)

According to the IGI, ANN, daughter of MATHIAS and ELIZABETH WHARRAM, was baptised at Naburn, Yorkshire, on 10 February 1828. (an IGI patron submission gives her date of baptism as 13 January 1828 at Naburn).

At the time of the 1851 census ANN WHARRAM aged 23 and WILLIAM WHARRAM aged 26 were living at Laytham, Yorkshire (HO107/2358).

She married ROBERT, son of WILLIAM KNAPTON, at Naburn, Yorkshire, on 12 July 1853. ROBERT was said to be 27 years old and ANN 25 (IGI).

From her father's will proved at York on 14 June 1866:
"To my daughter ANN the wife of ROBERT KNAPTON of Foggarthorpe in the said County Farmer the sum of three hundred pounds".

The 1901 census entry lists ROBERT and ANN KNAPTON at Beverley, Yorkshire. ROBERT was a 76 year old retired farmer, born at Beeford, Yorkshire. ANN was 73, born Naburn, Yorkshire. Their daughter DOROTHY E. KNAPTON was 45, single, born at Fridaythorpe, Yorkshire. Also present was ROBERT KNAPTON's niece ADELAIDE E. (ditto marks for KNAPTON), aged 49, of no occupation, born at Northallerton, Yorkshire, and obviously refers to ADELAIDE ELIZA CROSBY formerly EDGOOSE. Their general domestic servant was 19 year old MARY E. (again, ditto marks for KNAPTON), born North Newbald, Yorkshire (RG13/4462/14).

She died on 19 March 1913 at 38 Handen Road, Lee, London.
