      A Hannah SWANN married a Samuel REDGATE at Fulford Chapel, Stone, Staffordshire, on 13 April 1862. She was described as a 20 year old spinster residing at Star and Garter and daughter of Thomas SWANN, a collier. Her husband was a 21 year old bachelor, a collier, also of Star and Garter, and son of Simon REDGATE, a collier. Hannah made her mark. Witnesses were JAMES Stoddard and Edwd BAKER.

      A Samuel REDGATE died at 28 Lundhill, Wombwell, Darfield, Yorkshire, on 28 September 1862. He was described as a 22 year old coal labourer. The informant was Thomas REDGATE, present at the death, 28 Lundhill, Wombwell.

      There is no evidence that this is the right Samuel REDGATE, but there are no others in the GRO indexes between Q2 1862 and Q3 1865.
