Walter TAYLOR married Ellen BUTCHER at Martock, Somerset, on 18 October 1840. He was a bachelor of full age and a labourer. No details of his father are given. Ellen BUTCHER was a spinster of full age, the daughter of Charles BUTCHER, labourer. Witnesses were Eli BUTCHER and James BARBER.

The following information about Walter TAYLOR, his parentage, marriage, and children came from Brad_ley@optusnet.com.au.
"He was born at Martock in Somerset in about 1815 and married Ellen BUTCHER who was born in 1822. Ellen died at Black Hill, New South Wales, Australia on 16 July 1903 and Walter died there on 2 December 1903.
The identity of his father is apparently unknown. His mother, Sarah TAYLOR née ELLIOTT, had married Thomas TAYLOR at Martock, Somerset, on 13 April 1809. They had one child: Elizabeth who was baptised at Martock on 12 October 1810."
