WILLIAM RICHARDS 1763-1808
WILLIAM RICHARDS was born at Strelley, Derbyshire, on 11 February 1763 and baptised there on 15 February.
He was a blacksmith.
He married SARAH MERRIMAN at Radford, Nottinghamshire, on 14 April 1789. He was from Greasley, Nottinghamshire. Witnesses were MARY GIBSON and Todaman Lant(?). They are thought to have lived with SARAH's parents after the wedding.
On or about 6 May 1808 WILLIAM RICHARDS applied to Greasley Parish for relief. He was give one week at 8 shillings and three weeks at ten shillings and six pence before he died. Thereafter payment was reduced to six shillings weekly and paid to SARAH.
