      EDGOOSE, farmer, and his wife Margaret EDGOOSE formerly DAWSON. The informant was Stanton EDGOOSE, father, West Walton.

      Stanton John EDGOOSE had married Margaret DAWSON at Wisbech on 16 January 1872.

      No trace of her baptism has yet been found.

      According to the 1881 census returns for the Dam House, West Walton, she was 4 years old and living with her parents, two sisters and a brother:

      She married George REID at Holy Cross Church, St. Pancras, London, on 21 August 1906. She was described as a 29 year old spinster of 12 St. Andrews Mansions, Dorset Street, London W, daughter of Stanton John EDGOOSE, farmer. George REID was a 34 year old widower. a police constable, of 49 Tonbridge Houses, son of Peter REID deceased, a farm labourer. Witnesses were May Louisa JONES, Walter Herbert BURTON (1873-1953), and Jessie Alice EDGOOSE (1888-1956).

      Jessie KEYWORTH and Gladys SYLVESTER said that she died young and that her son Athol REID was brought up by his grandfather Stanton John EDGOOSE.

      She died at University College Hospital on 30 July 1914 aged 37. Her address at the time was 10 Tonbridge Houses, Tonbridge Street, St. Pancras. George REID was a police sergeant.

      She was buried in St. Pancras Church Ground, Finchley Cemetery. Her mourning card bore the verse:
      A wife more true it was hard to find,
      Loving home and children dearly,
      To all she was both good and kind,
      We shall miss her sincerely.

      Athol REID lived at Fairfield, 13 Lyndon Avenue, Blackfen Road, Sidcup, Kent.
