Mary Ann Caroline ROWLEY married Henry DICKENSON at St. Matthew's Church, Walsall, Staffordshire, on 14 September 1841. Henry DICKENSON was a Walsall bachelor of full age, a merchant, and son of Henry DICKENSON, a factor. Mary Ann Caroline ROWLEY was described as a Walsall spinster of full age and daughter of Thomas ROWLEY, a factor.
Witnesses were Thos. ROWLEY and Charlotte ROWLEY.

Henry DICKENSON arrived in Tasmania to set up a branch of their Birmingham ironmongery business in Hobart . at some time between their marriage at Walsall in September 1841 and the birth of their first child Rosa on 20 September 1842. One of the firm's managers, Thomas PADMAN, was sent out to manage it. Henry's sister Eleanor (1813-1891) had married a John Thomas WATERHOUSE at Walsall in 1838.
They arrived at Hobart with John Thomas's parents the Reverend John WATERHOUSE and his wife Jane and other siblings on 1 February 1839.

The Hobart business was at 36 Elizabeth Street, Hobart. It was known as DICKENSON Brothers until the lease and business assets were transferred to STEVENS and HARCOURT in December 1849. In England the Birmingham ironmongery business with two or three branches known as Dickenson Brothers went bust in 1851.

Henry DICKENSON had a business associate by the name of John T. WATERHOUSE (see above) who went to Honolulo in 1851 and became very successful. Henry followed. He had a successful sugar operation in what became Maui County and died there on 29 October 1876. He and his daughter Rosa were buried in Hale Aloha Cemetery, Lahaina, Maui County, Hawaii, USA.
