Mary, daughter of Bartholomew and Elizabeth VESSEY, was born on 23 September 1847 and baptised at Whaddon, Cambridgeshire, on 11 November 1747.

The will of her brother James VESSEY was proved at West Walton on 14 May 1809. Beneficiaries were his wife King Barrow VESSEY, his nephew William VESSEY who was the son of his brother Bartholomew VESSEY, his niece Elizabeth WALLIS and his nephew Michael SHEARMAN who were the daughter and son of his late sister Mary SHEARMAN. The will was made on 18 April 1809.
