  JOHN ETGOSE (Before 1441-????) From the Thirty-Seventh Annual Report of the Deputy Keeper of the Public Records: "1452. Lease of messuages in, late of John ETGOSE; see WARREN, John" (page 688) "1441. Lease of Messuages late of John ETGOSE; see WARREN, Laurence, Kt." (page 690) "1441, April 27. Laurence, Kt., lease to, of the custody of two messuages and three cottages in Stopford, which were of John ETGOSE, an outlaw; for 12 years, at 7s. yearly. [19 & 20 Hen 6 m 8 d (2).]" (page 770) NOTES & QUERIES: See also reference in 1440 to John EDCUS (14??-14??). It is likely that John EDCUS is synonymous with John ETGOSE.
