  PERCY DICKENSON 1882-1918 Percy, son of John Henry DICKENSON and Elizabeth Amelia née BERESFORD, was born at South Bridgewater, New Norfolk, Tasmania, Australia, 7 March 1882. (Tasmanian Archives) As No. 3577 40th Bn. Infantry of the Australian Imperial Force he was killed in action on the Somme on 9 May 1918 aged 36. He was buried in Grave III.A.3, Mericourt-L'Abbe Communal Cemetery Extension. (CWGC) His will reveals that he was formerly an orchardist at Granton in Tasmania. The executors were his parents John Henry DICKENSON, orchardist of Granton, and Elizabeth Amelia DICKENSON. His effects in Tasmania and its dependencies did not exceed £363.
