"As a result of injuries received in an attack by a fellow patient at the Utah State hospital, Mrs. Evelyn Burton INKLEY, 42, of Garfield, died Wednesday. The scuffle, which took place on Tuesday in a shower room of the hospital ended when Mrs. INKLEY's head was battered against a cement railing by Maxine STEVENS, 30, of Salt Lake City, another patient according to Hospital officials. County Attorney Arnold C. ROYLANCE, who investigated, said the incident was "avoidable" and that thehere was apparently no negligence on the part of the attendants, who were on the scene immediately to break up the attack. Dr. Owen P. HENINGER, hospital superintendent, said the death was the first of its kind at the hospital in many years. Mrs. INKLEY was born in Salt Lake November 9, 1900, daughter of Walter E. and Ophelia Bawden BURTON. Funeral services will be Friday at 1pm at 36 East Seventh South, Salt Lake City, by Elmer MATHEWS, Gerfield [sic] ward bishop."
