Richard GALEY appeared by his attorney for a fourth day against Thomas ETGOSE late of Wygtoft in the county aforesaid husbondman and Thomas REDWARE late of Byker in the county aforesaid husbondman, in a plea that both of them render him 40s thahhat they owe him and unjustly withhold; and against Gilbert LEGERDON late of Quaplod in the county aforesaid husbondman administrator of the goods and chattels that were of Henry LEGERDON, who died intestate &c. And (the defendant) has not come; and it had been ordered the sheriff to take them &c. And the sheriff now reports that they are not found &c. Therefore, as before, let them be taken, to be here on the quindene of Easter &c." [29 April 1498]
