ELIZABETH BURTON formerly ROBINSON (1643-1722)
Elizabeth, the daughter of John ROBINSON (died in 1683) and his wife Elizabeth EDGOOSE (1609-1685), married Joseph BURTON.
In his will made on 24 January 1682/83, John ROBINSON of Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire, refers to his daughter Elizabeth the wife of Joseph BURTON and leaves her the sum of ten shillings.
"In the name of God amen I John ROBINSON sen[ior] of Pinchbeck in the County of Lincolne yeoman sick in body but of perfect memorie [4 words illegible] Doe make and ordeine this my last will and Testament in manner in forme following:
Itm I [illegible] my soule into the hands of Almighty God trusting to be saved by the alone merits of Jesus Christ my only saviour & redeemer, and my bodie to be buried at the discretion of mine Executor hereafter named , and that worldly estate that it has pleased God to blesse me with I dispose as follweth:
Imp[rimi]s I give unto Elizabeth my wife halfe my houshole stuffe [illegible] nature or kind soever to be equally devided betwixt her and mine Executor hereafter named at the discretion of my brother Robt ROBINSON and Wlm PROCTOR or either of them
Itm I give unto Elizabeth my said wife the sume of twenty pounds
Itm I give unto my daughter the wife of Joseph BURTON the sum of ten shillings
Itm I give unto John NEWTON the sume of five pounds to be paid when he shall attaine the age of twenty fowre yeares, prvided always that if the said John NEWTON depart this life before the said age of twenty fowre yeares then my will and mind is that the legacie aforesaid shall remaine to my executor
All the reste of my goods and chatells not heretofore bequeathed I give them [illegible]o John my son whome I make Sole Executor of this my last will & Testament to receaive my debts & pay my rents and legacies & have my bodie decently & Cristianliked buried in witness hereof I have sette my hand and seale this twenty fowerth day of Januarie in the yeare of our Ld 1682.
