This is the memo that George and Greta EDGOOSE's son John Samuel EDGOOSE wrote about 'Aunty Frances':
" 'Aunty Frances' was a friend of my mother's. She and Mum had nursed together during the war. They had travelled together on the train into Sunderland; Aunty Frances from Easington and Mum from Seaham. She was Mum's bridesmaid and must be on their wedding photo (which I cannot find at the moment to check). Her maiden name was Sigsworth, had married 'Uncle Albert' and he was away in the forces. Somehow either she knew the market garden at Easington and had introduced Mum and Dad or they had walked down the track next to the market garden and seen him working over the fence. Mum was 'unattached' and it must have been unusual for men of Dad's age to be 'around' during the day in the war and not in uniform or on their way to the pit. After the war the Prouds bought a house at the top of Potters Bank in Durham and I stayed with them a number of times. She and Uncle Albert were both pharmacists and after the war had a shop opposite the bus station in Durham."

The marriage between Albert PROUD and Frances SIGSWORTH was registered in 1942.
