      The committeemen appointed by Prof.SHEPARD of the government's experiment station at Brookings to push the culivation of sugar beet culture in this county during the season of 1898, had a meeting on Saturday afternoon in the office of S. W. NARRREGANG, and elected William Tennant president and Mr. NARREGANG secretary. An acre of ground for an experimental plat will be selected near Aberdeen, perhaps immediately south of the city, and will probably be put in charge of J. E. HICKENBOTHAM and Richard STROHMEIER, members of the committee."
