ELIZABETH PILKINTON née GRUMMITT Circa 1783-1850
Jonathan PILKINTON, single, aged 33, not of this parish, and Elizabeth GRUMMITT, single, aged 30, from Deeping, were married at Deeping St. James, Lincolnshire, on 28 October 1813.

In 1828-1829 Jonathan and William PILKINTON had a business in Market Place, Market Deeping, Lincolnshire. They were grocers, drapers and tallow chandlers. In 1842 the business appeared to belong to Thomas and Elizabeth PILKINTON, and it is possible that a William TOLLER may have obtained an interest by about 1843 when Elizabeth PILKINTON became Elizabeth TOLLER.

Jonathan PILKINTON of Market Deeping, Lincolnshire, Gentleman, made a will dated 26 April 1844 According to his will he died on 6 December 1844. In his will he refers to a silver snuff box presented to him by George William BANKS.

"This is the Last Will and Testament of me Elizabeth PILKINTON of Market Deeping in the County of Lincoln Widow, as follows,
I give and bequeath unto Joseph PHILLIPS of Bourn fen in the said County of Lincoln Farmer the following articles of Furniture which will be found in the room of my present Dwelling house called the "Blue room", namely, The Bed, Bedding, Bedstead, and hangings all complete The Secretary and Bookcase, the wash hand Stand and Chamber service complete Dressing table, Looking Glass, Night convenience and Bidet Curtains and Poll, Six Chairs, Four Stools, Carpet, Hearth rug, and Towell horse Also Six Framed rush bottomed chairs in the Kitchen of my said Dwelling house And in case of the death of the said Joseph Phillips in my life time I do hereby give and bequeath all the above articles of Furniture to his two Daughters to be equally divided between them
I give and bequeath unto Louisa Elizabeth PILKINTON, the Daughter of William and Elizabeth PILKINTON, which said Elizabeth PILKINTON is now the wife of William TOLLER of Market Deeping aforesaid Grocer and Draper, My large Silver Tea Pot

I give and bequeath unto Thomas PILKINTON of Stamford The looking Glass which stands on the Chimney Piece in the room of my said Dwellinghouse called the Drawing room.
I give and bequeath unto my Niece Constantia ONN My Gold Watch chain and appendages belonging thereto
I give and bequeath unto Margaretta KELLY of Market Deeping my four Bronze Lustres in my said Drawing room
I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth CHANTRY of Market Deeping aforesaid Spinster the small work table with drawers now standing in my said Drawing room
All which said specific Legacies or articles of Furniture I direct my Executors to deliver to the respective Legatees one week after my decease and I particularly request that the same shall not be removed until that period
I give and bequeath unto the said Joseph PHILLIPS and Francis BROWN of Market Deeping aforesaid Gentleman All my money and securities for money And all the residue of my Household Goods and Furniture Plate Linen Jewels Wearing apparel China Boooks Ale Wines Liquors and all other my Personal Estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever not hereinbefore disposed of Upon trust that they the said Joseph PHILLIPS and Francis BROWN or the Survivor of them or the Executors administrators of such survivor do and shall with all convenient speed after my decease call in and collect all my money and do and shall at such times as they or he shall think proper sell and dispense of all the residue of my said Personal Estate (except as hereinafter mentioned)
And I do hereby declare that they [the] said Joseph PHILLIPS and Francis BROWN or the survivor of them shall stand and be possessed of the money to arise and be produced as aforesaid Upon Trust In the first place to pay retain and satisfy all my Funeral and Testamentary charges and Expenses also all my just Debts And also the costs charges and Expenses of the said Joseph PHILLIPS and Francis BROWN, both Professional, or otherwise attending and carrying into execution the trusts of this my Will and all other incidental Expenses in any wise relating thereto
And in the second place to pay as follows
To Sarah WEST (who now resides with me) the Legacy or sum of Fifty pounds which I direct shall be paid to her free from Legacy duty
I also request my Executors to provide and pay for a good and complete suit of mourning for the said Sarah WEST
To the said Elizabeth CHANTRY the Legacy or sum of Five pounds
To Sarah ELLIOTT of Market Deeping the Legacy or sum of Five pounds to be paid to her in such manner and proportions as my Executors shall in their discretion think proper And I direct that her receipt alone shall be a good discharge for the same notwithstanding her C.overture [?]
And subject to the several payments and deductions and the trusts aforesaid Upon trust to pay and divide the surplus of the said money (if any) unto and equally between my Nephew and Nieces John ONN, Elizabeth the wife of [blank] O'BRION [sic], Jane PILKINGTON [sic] the wife of Alfred STANTON, Constantia ONN, and Ann ONN
And it is my wish and I expressly direct the said Joseph PHILLIPS and Francis BROWN or the survivor of them shall take into their or his possession all my Plate Jewels Trinkets Linen and wearing Apparel and keep the same until the trusts of this my Will are fully carried out and satisfied and in the event of my Personal Estate not producing sufficient money to carry out the trusts and directions of this my Will I direct them to raise such deficiency by the sale and disposal of such paart thereof as they or he shall think proper And after that period Upon trust to the divide the same or such part thereof as shall remain between the said John ONN, Elizabeth O'BRION [sic], Jane Pilkinton [sic] STANTON Constantia ONN and Ann ONN share and share alike as in the discretion of the Executors or Executor for the time being shall in their discretion think proper
And I do hereby declare that each of my Executors shall be charged and chargeable for such monies and effects only as they respectively shall actually receive by virtue of the trusts hereby in them reposed notwithstanding their giving or signing or joining in giving or signing any receipt or receipts for the sake of conformity And that they shall not be answerable or accountable for the other of them or for involuntary losses
And I hereby nominate and appoint the said Joseph PHILLIPS and Francis BROWN Executors of this my last Will and Testament
