  • Notes
    • LEEDER, Ann formerly THROWER (1782 or 1783-1858)

      An Ann, daughter of Stephen THROWER and Hannah TYLER, was baptised at Hoxne, Suffolk, on 13 October 1782.

      Julia Hannah LEEDER's great grandson Michael EDGOOSE has in his possession (December 2026) her bible which, according to the inscription, was "presented by her Father, Decr 11 1856". It had originally belonged to her grandmother Ann THROWER: "Hannah THROWER Her Book the Gift of the Revnd Mr. WYTHE Decr 3d 1795".

      She married Richard LEEDER at Trinity, Bungay, on 30 September 1817.

      From the 1841 census of Reedham, Norfolk:
      Richard LEADER (sic), aged 52, journeyman butcher, born in Norfolk;
      *Ann LEADER (sic), aged 51, born in Norfolk.
      (HO107/785/8/11/16)

      According to the 1851 census returns she was 68 (i.e. born in 1782 or 1783), a butcher's widow, and living at Reedham, Norfolk. She was born at Redenhall, Norfolk.

      Ann LEEDER, widow of Richard LEEDER, butcher, deceased, died at Acle, Norfolk, on 26 December 1858. She was said to be 69 years old which is at variance with her age in the 1851 census above. The informant was Richard LEEDER of Acle, present at the death.
      (GRO March Q 1859 Blofield 4b 145)

      She was buried at Acle on 2 January 1859.
